Having first hand knowledge of this material, I wholeheartedly agree
with this author's take on German plumbing standards. If we start
afresh in orbit, for Pete's sake let's not follow the German standard.

Hmmm...well, in space, it's important to conserve water. But in a
weightless environment, they can't just bounce the crap off a dry
shelf, or it'll go floating around the cabin. Or bounce back from
whence it came. But in a rotating habitat, which I assume is what
we're talking about, it seems to me in a closed-system environment,
there'll be a priority on convserving water.
