I've seen most of you talking about space settlements on moon or mars.
wot abt the space settlemnt in the asteroid belt between jupiter and
mars? if any msg elated to this has been posted kindly tell me which
one so i can enhance my knowledge.

That's the obvious place to expand after Earth orbit and perhaps
Martian orbit. There are a lot of great resources there. But it's
VERY far away -- too far to jump right to before we have a lot of space
infrastructure closer in.

But as Joe says, a lot has to happen between now and then. My story was
set a solid century into the future (unusually far for me) and it
assumed a well-established and thriving civilization in High Earth
Orbit.
But in the long run, I think most of us assume that there will come to
be many times more habitats in the Belt than in any Earth orbit (and
Earth orbit habitats might eventually have a total land area greater
than that of the Earth, so that's saying something).
