How would space habitation hold a monopoly over efficient use of materials? If it weren't for the lack of sufficient nitrogen (to use as a buffer gas), 5,974 quintillion tonne Earth might be made to hold quintillions of humans.

Since Venus's atmosphere holds many times as much nitrogen as Earths' does, perhaps some could be imported from there to improve the efficiency of the use of Earth's other building materials.

Not unless youre planning to tear it all down and build a Niven Ring or a Dyson Sphere or some such

Once again, unless you take one of the options above, or, perhaps you plan to honeycomb the entire planet down to the core to make room for all those folks...oopsw, that lavas gonna fill up all yalls tunnels. LOL

They can only build so many floors before the whole thing collapses.
We can build buildings now perhaps 3000 stories? I don't know what
it is...but it would have to be *millions* of stories to accomodate
*billions* of times the current population of Earth, which is what
space habitats can house, with the resources of the solar system.

Long before you get to quintillions of humans, you will bump into
thermodynamic limits of how many humans can exist on the Earth at
once.

...And we don't it to be. Let the enormous amounts of living space
and resources, the domains empty of any *current* biospheres or
ecologies, and empty of any aboriginal peoples, be the places to go.
