Hello all,

I had read a short story a few years ago that was set on a O'Neill cylinder, yet in another solar system. When recently re-reading Mike Combs short stories I was reminded of it and started to surf the net in search of it, but with details hazy I'm not coming up with much. I was wondering if anyone in the group remembers coming across such a story.

Its a long shot, but I'm hoping to find it one way or another. Thank you in advance for any help anyone will be.

Best to you all,

Jeff

If you do find that story, please share the location with the list. I'm always interested in reading fiction set in a High Frontier type situation, even amateur fiction.

Oh, I heard something interesting about the upcoming sci-fi flick "Elysium". I already knew it was about a dystopian Earth where the wealthy lived on an idyllic space station. But I more recently heard someone who had seen something from this production remarking that the design might have had influence from Larry Niven's Ringworld. This to me suggested a structure which rotated for artificial gravity. Which means it might be something a bit more realistic than the typical Hollywood depiction of giant space stations.

Rgds,

Mike Combs

If you like, I can post the question at Amazon and see if anybody there knows it.

_Elysium_ sounds interesting. A 'Ringworld-like' habitat could also have been inspired by the game _Halo_, which is pretty popular.
