It also means increased inertia. 6x the mass means 6x the friction and 6x the inertia, so it's a wash. Increasing the mass doesn't decrease the tendency to slide off the conveyor belt.

Maybe not all conveyer belts dont allow for permanently attached trays, but I have no difficulty envisioning a belt that has trays permanently affixed to the top which then make the turn at the end in a permanent loop or where the tray folds over and travels back up the bottom of a belt thats set up in a straight line. Once again, you choose to play the devils advocate and rule out applications that apparently haven't occurred to you. Just because your mind seems incapable of problem solving of a free flowing type, theres no need to rigidly adhere to strictly terrestrial applications. Simply wait and see what we can come up with once were in space and naysaying perforce must take a back seat to creative and even adaptive engineering. Survival is a very great motivator!
