On space.com there was a report about a study which said that super-earths might be more likely to develop life, but that any intelligent civilization which might develop there would find the higher gravity made space travel much more difficult for them than for us. I left this comment:

I'd love for this point to become more-widely appreciated. Because it also goes the other way. People living in high orbiting space habitats will feel sorry for the Earth-bound, who they will view as the "gravitationally disadvantaged".
