to fly through the atmosphere at high speed. That's a thermodynamically
bankrupt concept without non-existent super-shields. Those materials don't
exist yet, and hence the whole 'flying into orbit' philosophy is the same as
saying 'let's not bother develop RLVs for another few decades'.
Both engines have military applications, and might make you a lot of money
in that market, but they can not immediately and significantly reduce launch
costs.
