Ned Ludd lives on

Hi John,

Just a short word of praise for a very good e-mail from a 66 year-old
guy living in the country where Nedd Ludd lived, and where the leaders
of both main political parties have decided they want to support him and
turn this country into a third world nation - whereby we are the only
so-called 'industrial' nation that fails to contribute one penny to
manned spaceflight of any kind.

However, I have lived in other third world countries in Africa and the
Americas, and have visited several in both the Middle and Far East, so I
can assure you that Nikes and blue jeans are already all over the third
world. Sorry, but as an ignorant third worlder myself, I don't know what
SUVs are?
