purely in perception of a superior authenticity. Compare mined
diamonds to synthesized diamonds. People prefer the former, though
the latter are technically superior.

The modern real-estate market has always been based upon a myth of
authenticity, ignoring the fact that the "crust" of Earth essentially
is entirely liquid.
By the way, from the above-link:
"White diamonds must be grown in an environment free of
nitrogen and boron, which makes them very difficult to produce."
The hard-vacuum of space is probably free of nitrogen and boron.
