Landscapes aavailable in habitats (was Authenticism drives the myth)

I love the habitats thing-I agree that will become HUGE in the future. I understand we can design landscapes in the habitats, but how many millennia before we can get to the scale of a landscape on a planet? I think these habitats are going to be market driven and you're going to find your landscapes limmitted by $$. Anyway, when I think of experiencing the lanscape on a world vs a habitat the notion of geologic time also comes in to play. To pick up a 400 million year old fossil, to look at a river valley like the grand canyon and realize the epochs that it has cut it's course-these are all part of the experience, not merely the lay of the land.

Please don't get me wrong, the habitats will be a whol other ordedr of being-more control, more refinement of prupose and architecture-and like several people have noted, no gravity well so Oort clouds, asteroids, and other objects can be handled, processed and reconfigured at the habitats or near them. I can see the habitats becoming sort of a upper eschelon for humatiy as technical and industrial superstars create their own realm above the crime ridden, disease riddden planet below. The ultimate exclusive nieghborhood.
