Interesting. However, it is just the logical next step of a tendency
that's going on worldwide. In countries like my own, Chile, where we
live exporting agricultural products of quality, farming is not what it
used to be anymore. Everything is been influenced by technology. It is
not only chickens and eggs that are produced indoors, but also flowers,
lettuces, and many things. When farming is in the fields, machinery is
also present.

Here is an example of technology applied to food production. The
growing of salmon in southern Chile. This practice represent today a
large part of fishing in my country, and how you can see, most of it is
artificial and indoors.

So, judging for the tendency, I bet vertical farming (and fishing
perhaps?) it is surely the way to go
