Really scary for anyone travelling on it; might work for cargo. Then
there's the g-forces- people would be squashed flat.
Yeah, I wouldn't suggest it for anything other than unstructured cargo. In my story, it was flinging polar ice to an equatorial station which could then launch it to the L-2 point.
