would it not depend upon how we collapse - if we can retain enough pockets where knowledge is kept then it should be easier to come back and it may force us to accept a lower standard of materialism - if there is space developements would it not be better to do the industrial work in space and keave earth as a garden/ preserve = they can always send their best and brightest for a trade -
