Isn't weightlessness the obvious choice?

It strikes me as shortsighted and provincial that space colony scenarios always (seemingly, at least) involve centrifugal force or other simulation of gravity.

It's like fish coming ashore but fearing to become amphibians, so they use long straws to breathe water and retain their gills.

Weightlessness atrophies bones and muscle, I know, but so what?
