Another site gives even more impressive illustration of Sanger's "Rocket Bomber"
however it lacks the data in deleted site. New site is at:

Data in old site but not in new sites:
Piloted vehicle data (only went sub-orbital but would go to orbit if concept
applied to a Space Shuttle) / Sanger's original 1933 data:
Length = 28 meters
Liftoff mass = 99.773 metric tons
Empty mass = 19.955 metric tons
"diameter" = 2.32 meters
Wingspan = 15 meters
Thrust = 146 metric tons
Propellant = LOX/kerosene
In 1961 Eugene Sanger was in charge of West German Junkers RT-8-1
design for a Space Shuttle with a high speed ground takeoff.

Note the beautiful lady trying to interest NASA in 1968 with the impressive
model of 1st & 2nd stages of RT-8-1. Guess neither her beauty nor model's
beauty made much impression on our "experts" (just fell on deaf ears).
