To stop it before it gets bad you can block new members from posting

on front page go to management
under group settings go to messages
under messages go to posting and achieves - click on edit
Under posting options go to the third group - Moderation - go to third line
(New Members) and click on circle

Save changes

Once a member has been here a while go to the members index and click on
the edit membership under name and you can change that member to a regular
member and you an change it back if necessary.
