Maybe that stands to YOUR reason. It certainly doesn't stand to mine.
Private business WILL be the way that anything substantial is ever
achieved in outer space. Governments will not.

I'm not sure what country you live in, but that's not how it works where
I'm from. Everybody has the opportunity to be their own master, on
whatever scale their talents permit. And yes, many people act like
sheep, but that's because they choose to do so. If you want to spend
all your talent hunting imaginary trolls in some online video game,
you're free to do so -- that's capitalism too.

Wow, that's quite a run-on sentence! Perhaps a private, capitalist
school would have taught better writing skills. :) Just kidding, I
actually went to public schools all the way through. So there are some
things governments can do well. But space development isn't one of them.

I can only imagine that you're living in some dictatorship where you
aren't allowed to accumulate wealth yourself, but instead all your labor
is controlled by the government for the benefit of others.

You should consider moving to a freer society where you're hardly
controlled at all, except for impinging on the rights of others and
paying your share common services (including the space program), and the
latter is based on how much wealth of your own you're accumulating. If
your government will let you, of course. If not, you can probably
defect -- there aren't too many tightly controlled borders anymore.
