2010's (Movie) the Leonov

And it did seem as though something was counter-acting the torque. There was that one shot of the ship turning on its long axis. That would be very difficult for a ship with significant angular momentum.

Two same-sized sections counter-rotating might have been better.

Could someone explain to me how a ship like the Leonov from the 2010: Odyssey 2 movie would work--or why it wouldn't. I'm trying to figure out sizes and what would be needed to counter act the torque of the rotating section.
