The key is to change our paradigms voluntarily, but human nature does not
seem capable of this. If we go by historical records paradigm change at a
gross level (not at a micro level where the old and young quarrel over
whether the earlier generation had it better), is only possible by collapse
of civilizations. Since through globalization we are now one civilization,
any future collapse will be frightening indeed.
