Asteroid captu or whatever

To establish space infrastructure, as well as to protect the environment we
need large investments. We also need the people of planet earth to make
personal sacrifices to meet these objectives. Considering that there are a
good number of educated people on this planet, who should instinctively
realize the importance of these two activities (protecting the environment +
getting a firm foothold into space), why is it that very few educated people
have the time and the energy to engage with these two issues?

When archaeologists of the future shift through the ashes of our
civilization they will surely wonder how a civilization which reached great
heights in the sciences could blow everything up ....

The first and the most important paradigm we need to change is:

The Market economy should be a subset of the Knowledge economy, not the
other way around. The situation has existed for the last 100 years, where
the market economy has dominated the knowledge economy and the media has
essentially been enslaved to meet the requirements of the market economy.
With the media essentially enslaved should we be surprised that no one has
the time and the energy to engage with important issues?
