100-Year Starship some way off

Unmanned probes to the nearest star systems in 100 years...yeah, that
sounds like a good idea to me.

William, Id like to remind you that weve ALREADY launched several unmanned probes to locations extrasolar.

We haven't even settled our own Solar System yet...pardon me, but
such talk as this to me sounds ridiculously premature. In fact, we
don't even know everything that's in our own Solar System: see the
news about a possible gas giant in the far outer Solar System.

Unmanned probes to the nearest star systems in 100 years...yeah, that
sounds like a good idea to me. Just as exciting will be to construct
huge telescopes out in space, with apertures measured in kilometers
and so powerful they will be able image and map planets in these
other systems.
