Not that what media in Brazil is showing matters that much for advancing
space colonization, but here the open channels completely ignore scientific
divulgation, so the situation is much worse even than if they were putting
shows about Mars in the air. The cable channels have a handful of
scientific-like channels, like the versions of Discovery and National
Geographic channels displayed here, plus Futura, a Brazilian education
channel. As one may expect, National Geographic basically ignores outer
space; Discovery has a lot of documentaries about space (including Mars
exploration), but I've *never* seen the O'Neilian concepts displayed there.
As for Futura, it is more directed to children, and so it is also kind of
childish...
How can anyone get in contact with Discovery and other scientific TV media?
If they were convinced to make at least one documentary about space
settlement, than that could have an effect on the public (world wide) orders
of magnitude stronger than republishing "The Higher Frontier"...
