The book 'limits to growth' was put together by engineers and scientists
from MIT. It is not based on any political ideology. The strain on
resources - land, water, petroleum, air (global warming), etc. - is quite
real. What we need is more optimum use of resources (how that would be
defined in terms of growth is not clear). And this is where I thought the
space community could come up with unconventional ideas.
