Naturally most of us in this group want to live in O'Neill type habitats but until human economics improves somewhat we may have to settle for the Moon or Mars. Thos of you in the UK may be interested in this:

2012 Annual General Meeting and Conference
Our 2012 Annual General Meeting will take place in the Columbia Room of the Shuttle Suite at the National Space Centre in Leicester from 9 am 10 am on Saturday 25th of August. While attendance will be free of charge to all, only those whose membership fees are paid up-to-date may vote, however new or update payments in this regard will be accepted at the door. Membership fees are presently 12 per annum or 6 for unwaged and there is a 24 family membership fee on option.
Attendance at our 2012 One-Day Conference which will begin at 10.20 am and close at 5 pm will cost 10. Speakers will include Alan Bond of Reaction Engines who will tell us about Skylon and Project Troy a comprehensive UK Mars Plan --- and Dr Susanne Schwenzer of the Open University who is co-operating with Dr John Bridges of Leicester University now at JPL in Pasadena , on Curiosity research regarding possible life traces caused by reactions of water on Mars rocks. She will give us the latest up-to-date news of Curiosity. Freelance presenter on Astronomy and Space Exploration Jerry Stone FBIS, FRAS is coming from London , Graham Dale B.Sc., President of the Mars Society UK will also be coming from Dundee to speak as will Scottish Space Artist Ed Buckley and Mars Society secretary Andy Nimmo from Glasgow .
