Fermi's Paradox

And all that might be a justification for immediate sterilization of the planet, before the dangerous inhabitants have a chance to spread interstellar.

But we're still alive.

Figuring out why we've not been contacted is just one thing. We also have to figure out why we've never been wiped out or colonized.

So I was thinking about Fermi's Paradox. With vast age and size of the universe and with even one alien species reaching interstellar travel, it would take a relatively short time to colonize the galaxy. So where are the aliens?

Thinking on this, I wondered if we came upon an alien species. Observed it for a time unnoticed. And found the species to be violent, both personally and between groups of individuals, contain weaponry with 10 times the potential to destroy the planet they were on, polluted the planet to a degree that caused mass extinctions and threatened the habitability for their own existence and lastly was intelligent and technologically advanced. Would we make contact? In other words would it be wise to contact ourselves if we found a planet with species just like us? I'm thinking no.
