Would it be possible (aside from arguments that sufficiently advanced aliens might be able to do *anything,* of course) for a Dyson sphere's infrared energy to be discharged in one direction, not pointed our way? Thus, we don't see it.

After all, if they know about us, and we can only look from one direction, it might be possible to hide from observers *in that one direction,* for all that they'd be terribly obvious from any other angle.

I realize that this might be the dumbest idea posted here in ages, but I was just trying to think, "If they know where we are, they want to hide, and they can't make the IR just 'go away,' how could they hide it from us? Not hide it, just hide it *from us.*
