Elysium population growth #s (was New space themed movie coming this fall)

Thanks for that analysis of the engineering specs, Mike. I found some other questionable numbers on the CCB Operations: Risk Levels page:

It says the global Earth population grew from 7.066 billion in 2014 to 15.45 billion in 2026. Hmmm. That's a more-than doubling of the population in only 12 years. Population growth then drastically slowed down and ended up at only 107.7 billion by 2158, which is around the time the story takes place. A continuous 12-year doubling time,, starting from 2014, would instead have put the 2158 population at:
2^12 * 7.066 billion =
4,096 * 7.066 billion = 2.894 trillion.
