Thank you. It turns out that lunar gravity is just over 1.6 m/s/s, so the same 1.2 m/s/s downward acceleration could be used on the Moon, but the passengers would have to be prepared to be durn near weightless for a little while. They could also use, on the downward trip, decelerations of about 6 m/s/s with no real problem.
On upward trips, they could use the 6 m/s/s accelerations, but would have to decelerate at less than 1.6 m/s/s, and maybe 1 m/s/s should be the limit, for safety.
