I thought the major time limit for astronauts was zero g not the radiation? If the moon's 1/6 g is enough for long term human occupation, we are good, if it's only a little better then zero g we will likely have a similar time limit or have to implement medical or other procedures to mitigate the affects.

I agree with Joe, the moon is quite nice for the large amount of material laying around from a radiation standpoint or the lava tubes.
