Yeah, Id have to concede those points.

But if an astronaut died on Earth 5 years after returning from a mission, that might affect NASAs reputation but I dont think it would affect the taxpayers dime or NASAs time. Dying a few years after radiation exposure is probably a more-likely scenario than dying before you can even get back to Earth.

To be fair, the individual astronaut's life may belong to that individual astronaut, but he's risking that life on the taxpayer's dime and on NASA's time and reputation.
