feedback needed on TEDx talk

"...you might need to add some additional shielding, but still, its much
nicer to have that beneath your feet than over your head."

This isn't so much a suggestion for the talk, which has to avoid getting
too nuanced, as a question to satisfy my curiosity: don't you need both?
The layer of soil covers three of the six directions: down, east, and west.
If bent into a valley shape covering the outer half of a torus, it could
provide some north-south protection too, but that still leaves the question
of radiation coming at you from above.

In general, I think your talk is great, but personally I suspect the bright
future you imagine is a little further out than you imply. I'm not
convinced that we have solid solutions to the problems of getting enough
materials together in orbit and doing construction work in zero G.
Burrowing underground on a planet or moon may still be the easiest, and
therefore most likely, way to go for the first space colonies (or outposts,
if you prefer).
