No I did *not* suggest literally chicken wire, that is why I said "something like". Maybe I could have stated it better by saying: something like a mesh that captures microwaves but lets all, or almost all, the light through. Of the rectennas I've seen, none of them look anything like this. They are all mostly, if not almost completely, opaque solid surface.
