We have about 800 pounds of NASA DOE research on microwave power beaming studies and tests (SSI was chosen by NASA as the official archive and I know the weight because the collection was just shipped from storage in Princeton)

No I did *not* suggest literally chicken wire, that is why I said "something

Maybe I could have stated it better by saying: something like a mesh that
captures microwaves but lets all, or almost all, the light through. Of the
rectennas I've seen, none of them look anything like this. They are all mostly,
if not almost completely, opaque solid surface.
