Speeding up space coloniization

It looks as if we are rapidly moving beyond tele-robotics to AI-robots. The
reality seems to be stranger than fiction.

It is interesting to note that science fiction writers have not anticipated
the growth of AI.

But I guess youre saying the tele-robots themselves would be a kind of colonization. Perhaps, but I would say in that case we humans still missed out on colonizing space. We simply left it to our successors!
But I think such a development would bring down the cost of space habitats (the human variety, I mean) by so much that we would build them just for the high-quality real estate.
In the debate over which resources will get developed first, lunar or asteroidal, Ive reflected that such a technical development might push us more in the direction of the moon. We could teleoperate mining operations as far out as the moon, but most certainly could not at asteroidal distances.

One way to speed up space colonization would be to develop Humanoid Robots that can act as proxies for humans. They can be used to set up space facilities and 'live in space', beaming back to earth their 'human experience'.
