As an 84 year old I've only been reading SF since I was 9, around 75 years ago, and am still doing so. I very much disagree re pre 1960 writing. My favourites are mainly 1970s and 1980s books. Best of all, "Colony" by Ben Bova, written 1978 or thereabouts. Must admit though, am not really sure of what's good recently. Any suggestions?
