I agree that the gateway is totally useless.even for refueling a translunar vehicle you can Always launch the refueling ship from the moon , rendez vous and supply the fuel and fly backsame things that you have to do with the gateway, with the economic disadvantage of doing that two timesOnly now that they have a near schedule, 2024, to go back to the moon they are undestanding how useless the gateway would be

And thats another sore point with me. Most of my life Ive assumed that any lunar waystation would go into EM L-1. One advantage of departures from that location is that any inclination is as easy to achieve as any other. I suspect youre right that this will not be the case for this near-rectilinear halo orbit, and I have yet to hear anyone list a single advantage this orbit would have over L-1. And youre right; plane changes are expensive.
