Sounds like China remembers the High Frontier proposals better than many at NASA:

However, heres a needed caveat: The space programs of many countries enjoy projecting what they would like to do given unlimited funds. This is quite distinct from what theyve been assigned to do along with the required budget. So breathless articles about a certain nations space plans should be taken with that grain of salt. Still, its interesting.
Encouraging that theyre talking a small SBSP demonstrator as soon as 2025. Discouraging that they project a full-on system in 2050. Why would it take a quarter of a century to progress from demonstrator to commercial system?
A couple of years back I commented on the authors of Soonish asserting that not only does SBSP not make sense with traditional space transportation systems, it wouldnt even close the business case to have a space elevator available. So whos wrong, them or the designer of the Long March rocket?
