New short story

I couldnt help thinking about that Red Dwarf episode as I was writing this, as well as other TV show treatments of this such as the Quantum Leap episode. I think the decision to name one minor character Sam was influenced by my thinking about the latter.

There was also an excellent episode of the (second incarnation) Twilight Zone named Portrait in Silver. Lane Smith plays a future historian who goes back, and then cant restrain himself from yelling, Duck!

But I hope being well-aware of other SF treatments of this theme helped me to avoid unintentional plagiarism.

had an ep involving time travel and JFK. I'm guessing your take is a lot different.
