Property Rights Proposal]

I have been watching this discussion with interest. I believe it is a very
important issue relative to space colonization.
The acquisition of any property imbues the owner with a certain amount of
economic power. The question is, does the new frontier become the property of
the old political and economic order, or does a new order emerge?
Frankly, I do not recognize the power of anyone to decide or confer ownership
to something they do not own in the first place. This includes corporations,
nations, treaty signatories, etc.
Space assets wil belong to whoever has the courage and wherewithal to go get
them. That is the simple reality. Whatever treaties or accords follow will
either recognize this to be routinely ignored. There could be space-faring
'flag of convenience' that render any accords useless.
