Sorry Mike your quite right, let me correct my figures too. Island
one would weigh in at around 3.5 million tonnes all in, about 3.3
million tonnes would be shielding.

If the whole mass cost $10/KG that would be $31 billion in launch
costs. However if we take the shielding as costing 10Cents/KG ( as
quoted by Mike in an earlier post for launch from the Moon) and
$10/KG for the structural mass (which includes launch from the Moon
and then processing) then the total cost would be approximately 2.3
billion dollars (and that includes processing of materials). This
does not include however the construction costs or the setting up of
the space infra-sructure to build it initially.
