Critical time

Sounds a lot like the houseing and road building industry or any
other industry that you could name. Yet we still build houses and
roads, buy cars and food. Humans are a strange species. We demand
unreasonable perfection in some areas and endorse blatant evil in
others.

The word 'environmentalist' is the wrong word to use. There are environmentalists
who belive nuclear power is a good idea when compared to the current
realistic alternatives. 'Anti-nuclear' would be a better discription.

Personally, I will agree with the concept of transporting reactor
core materials to space when we have a beanstalk to do it with.
Shipping core materials on what amounts to a large explosive device
is a non starter to me.
