How about experimenting with habitat construction techniques? For
lunar/planetary/asteroid surface or in orbit - you can't simulate the
gravity, but maybe you can simulate (on a small scale) a 0.2+ atmosphere
overpressure, and see how hard the various proposed modular structures
actually would be to build?
