Archaea represents an entire Kingdom of fauna ,the ''extremophiles'' to
which you refer are but a fraction,a very interesting fraction nevertheless.
Some described as nanobacter are bacteria 5nanometers in diameter ,only
recently discovered due to the invention of the scanning tunneling electron
microscope. small as they are there believed to make up the largest percent
of the biomass ,almost two thirds of the Earths total mass is composed of
their skeletons.

Hmmmmm... Weird, since as far as I know Archaea live only in odd places like
geothermal vents in the bottom of the sea and stuff like that. Also, I think
that Archaea have sizes in the micrometer scale, so why call them
"nanoscopic"?
