This item is, I think, of some concern to ssi_list ---
many of us believe that there is a natural tendency in the populace at
large to romanticize "planets", a tendency that is not particularly
favorable to the goals of SSI. I'm arguing this point right now with someone on the New York Times Space Forum who knows for a fact that it will be much easier to bring colonies to maturity on the moon or Mars than in "strings of space bubbles".
