All the many questions you ask would cost a lot of money to answer. That is a huge research cost overhead that we can well do without. Oh, I was by no means suggesting that SSI should do this research. I can't really see anyone smaller than NASA doing this kind of research. And as I regretfully said, since huge pressurized environments don't figure into NASA's immediate plans, they probably have 0 interest in doing this. For these reasons it would be cheaper to stick to the atmosphere we know and understand, 1 bar 02/N2. That way we do not have to spend millions (billons?) on lots of research to find out if things will work at a lower pressure. Why bother ? Because at lower atmospheric pressure, the structural requirements for habitats are vastly reduced. Some millions in research here on Earth might save us billions on construction costs in space. And again,O'Neill's atmosphere recommendations were far more conservative than some which have been made since. I'm sure that past some point, the accumulating problems will make the reduction in structural requirements cease to be an equitable trade-off. I'm curious about where that point lays.
