A suggestion ...

Actually, I've been told that you can, in fact, donate money to the
U.S. Government and indicate that it be used for a specific purpose
and they will attempt to use it for that purpose. I'm not sure if
they'll take the third party check though.

But, then, you gotta ask, "Is the U.S. Government who I really want
managing the space program?" The money might better be spent by the
folks at SSI. Hmmm?
