Yeast performs better in space

"Sterrett's experiments, and subsequent tests have shown yeast behaves
in an unexpected way when used freefall -- with a lower cell count
than control experiments on earth, but a higher product yield.

This is of great interest to the pharmaceutical industry, who are
constantly looking for ways to increase bacterial yields for use in
medicines and antibiotics. Even a small increase could mean savings of
millions of dollars in production costs."

So, there is at least one industry that might be interested in
manufacturing in orbit.
