Hmm, this is pretty basic stuff, you should already know
that if you are serious about starting a commercial
space business.

It better not be important.
In LEO you will not have continuous tracking coverage
so most of the time the robots will be operating alone,
they will have be be significantly autonomous. The
time delay will be the least of your problems.
In GEO you get much better coverage, but you have the time delay.
There is no getting around that I am afraid, as the TV reporters in Afghanistan have found out :-)

For any given rocket based launch vehicle/system it is about 5 to 10 times more expensive to go to GEO than to LEO, depending on things like launch site,
vehicle dry weight etc.
