I remember seeing on TV a demonstration of hydrogen
storage in a tank with a catalyst. Sorry I have no
good information about it except that they shot the
full tank with a rifle, it punctured it but it didn't
explode.

Ford had a problem with exploding gas tanks around ten
years ago. I don't know how much they paid out in law
suits but it still took them years to change it.

Probably methane, but that wouldn't help the

If we ran the methane through fuel cells to create
electricity, we still have the carbon monoxide but
electricity is readily usable. I'm not a chemist.
Would the carbon atoms join with oxygen to create
carbon dioxide in a fuel cell?
