Response to Planetary Society/NASA's so-called survey

Slashdot.org [News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters] mentioned the survey,

that is why the large response, and the vast majority being male.
Essentially, 99% of the respondents are self described 'Computer Geeks' or
Tech. Enthusiasts.

I have lots of problem with results of the "survey"

1) Is two week really enough time for the public to respond? Why the
2 week limit? Sounds like railroading the public in favor of the
Planetary Society's agenda to me.

2) I question the legitimacy of the Planetary Society's role in this.
We all know what they are partial to. And the public input should
have been collected by a neutral party in the first place.

3) Only 50,000 people? Look at the demographics. 91% male. Last time
time I checked women account for a lot more than 9% of the US
population!

Perhaps these point should be pointed out when writing to your
congressperson.

Should SSI do a better job of spreading their message or is that the
job of the Space Frontier Foundation? There has to be a better job of
spreading the messages/focus out to the public than to keep on
preaching to the choir.
